Sunday Morning = Farmer’s Market Time (and my favorite Maroon 5 song)!
Check out our loot: Watermelon, peaches, two kinds of peppers, tomatoes, onion, and breakfast pastries!
After the market it was time for a lesson in latte-making! I taught z how to make one and then he did one all by himself ;)
z’s side: chocolate pastry and the Sports section!
My side: apple pastry and the Style section!
Now let’s get to the exciting part of our Sunday: Pizza for dinner!
We stopped by The Italian Store last week and picked up some fun Italian goodies including fresh pizza dough.
Time to roll and stretch it out!
In the meantime, z did some chopping (and photographing)!
See the black bottle next to the pizza sauce? That was another Italian Store purchase! It’s Balsamic Glaze! How exciting :)
After we took turns rolling out the dough (sounds like a song by Adele…if she were Italian!), we put it on an oiled pan and par baked it for 10 minutes.
Let’s get sauced!
After a light layer of sauce, we topped the pizza with mozzarella, farmer’s market peppers, and basil!
Time to get crispy!
The pizza made the house smell so good! When our pizza was done, we took it out of the oven, topped it with fresh basil and a drizzle of balsamic glaze!
I went a little crazy with the glaze…
The crust was crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle, the cheese melted perfectly, the basil was super fresh, the glaze was thick and sweet, and the peppers were extra spicy! I’d say that’s the makings of a perfect pizza…
The Italian Store is my new foodie crush! I can’t wait to explore and try more new things! Yum :)
Enjoy your week!
p.s. This is my last week of Summer classes! OW OW!
