After the week we had, z and I were in the mood for a pretty laid back New Year’s Eve!
We stopped by Twisted Vines before our 9pm dinner reservation. z got a glass of Malbec and I tried an Auka Torrontes (Argentinian)! I loved it! It was quiet because they were preparing for a big party, but we were able to chat with the co-owners and some of the other staff. The place is so quaint and comforting and the people are so nice!
New Year’s Eve calls for cocktails! I ordered a mango-ginger martini and z ordered a mojito!
Appetizers: fresh rolls and firecracker shrimp!
The fresh rolls rock my world!
For dinner I ordered Pad Cha From The Sea which had scallops, shrimp, mussels, and calamari wok-seared with young peppercorn in a spicy red chili sauce. It was super spicy which is exactly what I was hoping for! And…I have leftovers! Ow Ow!
z ordered skirt steak that was simmered in a special sauce.
We got home around 11 and it was time to open stockings! This is a new tradition for us I got a gift certificate for a manicure AND pedicure (and some other fun goodies)!! Hooray!
Time for some bubbly…
I picked up this inexpensive bottle of champagne from Whole Foods and it wasn’t half bad!
We switched between Dick Clark (Times Square Ball Drop) and MTV (Snooki Ball Drop!??). Both a little ridiculous in their own ways…
This was exactly the New Year’s Eve I had in mind <3
