I’m not sure why I woke up at 7:20, but I did and stayed awake!
Breakfast was not patriotic, but it was delicious!
This was the last of my two pound bag of cherries…that I bought Friday night. Yikes…
Shortly after breakfast I headed to Chinatown for my Sunday Starbucks. There was someone noticeably absent from my Sunday morning :(
This pigeon walked with me for half a block.
I love these embellishments in the brick!
Soy misto with a side of C-Town.
I came prepared with water and a book (which gave me goosebumps when I finished it)!
I had lunch a little after Noon. Organic cucumber from my parents garden, carrots, jalapeno hummus, ww bread with flax margarine, and hummuslaw.
After lunch I headed to the grass patch behind my apartment and did some reading. IT IS SO HOT OUTSIDE!
An Edy’s lime popsicle was totally necessary!
I took a lot of walks, read a ton and just enjoyed a day with nothing to do.
Until 7:30 when I met up with my college roommate, KJJ, and her boyfriend, AF! They were in town from NY to see the Mets play the Nats!
I took them to Busboys and Poets (my new addiction).
I got the falafel which was good, but not the best thing I’ve ordered.
AF got the Grilled Chicken panini.
And KJJ got the portabella panini!
We each got a beer, Peak’s organic for me and Woodchuck cider for them! After dinner we walked down to the National Mall to meet up with my parents for the FIREWORKS!!
Roommate for Life!
Why was I the only one squinting from the flash?? ha…
Hi guys <3
Mom and Dad did a great job of getting us a little square on the Mall :)
The fireworks were short but great. Afterwards, we headed to the grocery store to get ICE CREAM!
Tofutti Cuties! We used to eat a lot of these in college!
The five of us came back to my apartment (ooh A/C), ate our ice cream and reminisced about the past :)
Mom and dad left to take the long train ride home, but KJJ and AF stayed so we could look at pictures and read all the notes I kept from college :)
It was tons of fun! A great 4th of July :)
